This policy describes how Selfara collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our service. It applies to all users of selfara.ai, selfara.app, and any related APIs or services.

Information you provide directly
- Account information: Your name and email address, collected at registration.
- Conversation content: The messages you send and receive within Selfara. This is the core data the service operates on.
- Payment information: Billing details submitted at checkout. We do not store credit card numbers or full payment credentials on our servers.
Information generated by the service
- Memory data: Structured facts, preferences, patterns, and connections extracted from your conversations and stored to provide reasoning continuity across sessions.
- Session data: Exchange history, topic metadata, and timestamps associated with your conversations.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: Feature interactions, session length, and general usage patterns.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, and device information collected as part of standard server logging.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the Selfara service — storing, retrieving, and reasoning from your memory to give contextually aware responses
- Maintain your account and manage your subscription
- Process payments and send billing-related communications
- Send service notifications, including account alerts and security messages
- Improve the reliability and performance of the service
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your conversation content or memory data to train generalized AI models. Your data is used to serve you, not to improve models for other users.
5. Third-Party Services
Selfara uses third-party services to operate. Each handles data according to their own privacy policies.
AI model provider: We use a third-party AI model provider to process conversation content and generate responses. The specific provider may vary based on availability and service configuration. Your conversation content is transmitted to that provider solely to fulfill your request and is not retained by us beyond what is necessary to deliver the response.
Payment processor: We use a third-party payment processor to handle subscriptions and billing. Your billing information is transmitted to and stored by that processor. We do not store credit card numbers or full payment credentials on our servers.
Authentication provider: We use a third-party authentication provider to manage account creation and login. Your email address and account identifiers are handled by that provider.
Cloud infrastructure providers: We use third-party cloud infrastructure providers for hosting and data storage. All service data is stored on their infrastructure and subject to their security practices.
6. Data Retention
When you delete your account, all of your data — conversation history, memory, extracted principles, and usage records — is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days. Encrypted database backups are retained for up to 30 days as part of our disaster recovery infrastructure and are purged on the normal backup cycle. Financial transaction records are retained by our payment processor, Stripe, as required by law for tax and accounting purposes; we do not keep a copy of these records on our own servers.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your conversation history and memory data
- Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information.
8. Data Security
We protect your data using encryption in transit for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers, encryption at rest for stored backups, and access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel only.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We maintain reasonable safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we process.
9. Age Requirement
Selfara is not directed at anyone under 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under that age. If you believe someone under that age has provided us personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by prominent notice on the service before the changes take effect. The date at the top of this policy reflects the most recent update.
